“Having used holiday properties for over 35 years I can honestly say that this holiday property must be about the best ever.”

Cleaned to the highest of standards, well equipped and with so many little touches that made the property feel so homely. The welcome pack just an added extra much appreciated.

The property

Gaidrew Cottage is a beautifully renovated conversion of an older cottage, but now with an up to the minute contemporary interior. The owner's attention to detail, in even the smallest feature, is obvious immediately you enter the house from the carefully chosen colour scheme, which reflects the surrounding countryside, to the artwork, luxury linens and the lovely little arrival gift to say hello. High quality furnishings in the spacious and light social area and ultra comfy beds will leave you refreshed and renewed, after even the shortest stay in this wonderful cottage. However, to appreciate everything this area has to offer you would have to stay at least a month! Whether your interests lie in history (an area positively steeped in ancient and modern historic buildings and sites); wildlife, flora and fauna; walking and cycling (the West Highland Way passes close by); watersports and open water swimming on Loch Lomond; mountain climbing (Ben Lomond); golfing with many excellent courses to choose from and so much more. Glasgow and all the city attractions are less than a 45 minute drive, Stirling Castle and Blair Drummond Safari Park is under 30 minutes. The overall feel of the cottage and its environs is one of peace and tranquillity. A chance to unwind and slow down, to breathe in the fresh air and watch the deer which frequent the grounds close to the house. A truly rural idyll. EPC Rating: Band C

About the location

Drymen

Loch Lomond 4 miles, Aberfoyle 10 miles, Stirling 21 miles

The village of Drymen, nestling within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, was popular with Highland Cattle drovers in the 18th and 19th centuries due to its location and legend has it that Rob Roy MacGregor used Drymen as a base for his exploits against the Duke of Montrose. Today the village is popular with tourists who enjoy not only its attractive village green and selection of pubs, shops and restaurants, but also its location allowing access to Loch Lomond. The West Highland Way and the Rob Roy Way both pass through the village and nearby Conic Hill and mighty Ben Lomond and perennial favourites with walkers. Drymen is the ideal base for exploring most of central Scotland with both Stirling and Glasgow in easy reach. Drive up the west shore of Loch Lomond and explore further into Argyll with Arrochar and Inverary an easy day trip – just don’t be too distracted by the stunning scenery.

Note: The bed in bedroom 1 is a super king-size zip-link as standard. If you require this to be a twin, please contact us to advise. Note: electricity is included in the rent.
