More information about Clach Beag

Property information

Clach Beag is situated within the fenced area shown on the photographs, to the right of the owners house. There is a lovely, covered and private seating area to the side of the house and this, when illuminated at night is an atmospheric place to sit out. This cosy retreat is warmed by underfloor heating and there is also a woodburning stove so there should never be a problem with not being warm! The owner has created what she calls 'The Nest' which is a bird feeding area, set up with the Forestry's permission and is literally a stones throw from Clach Beag. Here you can view a vast variety of birds and if you are lucky local wildlife such as red squirrels, badgers and pine martens. There are miles and miles of tracks and trails which are ideal for walking and mountain biking. The River Spey is a 15 minute walk away through lovely scenery.

The private access track to Clach Beag from the B970 is approximately half a mile long and serves around 10 houses, is not treated by the council. There are occasional times in the winter months when the weather is severe, that this track is not driveable unless you have suitable tyre/vehicle.

However, if you do find yourself snowed in - just light the fire and switch on the Sky movies!

Just had a wonderful week in this very special apartment. I was lucky with the weather but it wouldn't have mattered anyway. The cottage is set up to be able spend time indoors with the wood burner or outside under cover or in the open. It's beautifully set up with everything that you need for a holiday. Even a torch ready charged which i used on a night time mammal hide visit. It was very quiet with no sound other than the birds in the trees. 'The nest' is great for seeing birds close up and within 5 mins I saw woodpeckers and 2 deer passing by. I also saw red squirrels a couple of times. The bed was very comfortable. Although it's small the shower room was perfectly laid out. The whole place has been very recently renovated and I was lucky to be the first person staying there. Dulcie was very helpful when needed but also left me to enjoy the perfect peace. Although the track to the cottage is rough and might be tricky in winter it was only a minute from the road. A lovely holiday place and I hope to be back sometime soon!
