  • Ms Wardle

“Great house and stunning views, it has everything you need in the kitchen imaginable, well done.”

Loved the welcome pack, very kind as not all LHH houses provide one. Could perhaps benefit from 1 high backed arm chair for anyone with back issues or elderly as the couch’s are very low and soft. Great out door seating, plenty of great parking.

The property

Strath Brora View is a remarkable contemporary designed and extremely spacious house which very comfortably accommodates 8 people. It is situated on the edge of the small coastal village of Brora. A minor road runs west for a mile from the village to the house, then to Loch Brora, a mile or so further on. The East coast of Sutherland is one of Scotland's best kept secrets, perhaps overshadowed by the better known west. Generally a warmer and drier climate, stunning beaches, fine golf courses and some of the remotest and quietest glens and straths in the whole of Britain. Brora is an historic picturesque coastal village with a small harbour, an ideal base for exploring what's on offer and only one hour from the Highland capital of Inverness. In Brora you will find all the facilities needed to meet your holiday requirements from good shops to cafe's and restaurants . There are great opportunities for cycling or walking days and the fabulous West coast mountains of Assynt can be reached for a challenging day of hill climbing. It would be possible to rise early and head north for a day sailing to the Orkney Islands and take one of the archaeological tour buses to Skara Brae and Maes Howe - both spectacular. For those coming to rest and recuperate, the house and its immediate environs will more than meet your needs without travelling very far at all. Just let the east-coast slow pace seep into your bones for a truly recuperative holiday. EPC Rating: Band C
