Sitting on a hillside and enjoying panoramic, far-reaching views across the valley, this renovated farmhouse offers the perfect accommodation for extended families or groups of friends. A fabulous family/dining room offers a great space for a big get together or that special celebration meal. Lovely garden grounds to the front and side of the property are overlooked by a raised patio with garden furniture that is ideal for alfresco dining. There is plenty for children to do with outdoor play equipment installed in clear view of the garden table. Fishing can be arranged locally on the rivers Deveron, Isla and Bogie. The area is renowned for being on both the Castle Trail the famous Malt Whisky Trail with an interesting cooperage visitor centre at Craigellachie, where you can view the whisky casks being made, browse their shop and visit the cafe. The Huntly Nordic all weather ski centre is 15 minutes drive, Clashindarroch Outdoor centre, 25 minute drive, and the Scottish Championship Motocross course is only a 1/4 mile away with fortnightly meetings. There are many cycle tracks for mountain biking and numerous walking routes, in particular to the 'Tap o' Noth' the hill immediately behind the house. All in all, Newseat is a brilliant family holiday house in an area with plenty to see, do and explore.

About the location

HUNTLY

Elgin 28 miles; Banff 21 miles.

The pretty town of Huntly is located in Speyside, and is surrounded by rolling Scottish hills and open fields. The town has an interesting history, and the Standing Stones of Strathbogie lie in the centre of Huntly just beside the Brander Museum which is well worth a visit. Of course, the whole area forms part of the famous Whisky Trail and there are seven working distilleries for those interested in sampling a true taste of Scotland! Apart from whisky there are excellent hotels and pubs to appreciate, and Huntly also boasts an 18 hole golf course. A visit to the outdoor centre allows for the opportunity to participate in some roller skiing, or perhaps just enjoying the simple pleasures of cycling and walking in the wonderful Clashindarroch Forest is more your taste. Some 10 miles away is the town of Keith, gateway to the 'Malt Whisky Trail' and home to Scotland's oldest working malt whisky distillery. Keith is a pretty and very typical Scottish town with an excellent selection of shops and dining out opportunities.
