“Good location with amazing views to the sea, lots of space, very comfortable, very dog friendly and with a very friendly owner.”

Can see short-eared owls from the house. The only asks would be to double the glassware and cutlery, provide some more basics eg. salt and pepper, dustpan brush, clothes washing powder and possibly add a bar to the fencing to ensure the dog doesn't sneak underneath at the back.

The property

Fuidaigh is one of the Ocean View Cottages on South Uist, so called because of the huge expanse of sea view which the house commands. Recently renovated to significantly upgrade the standard and facilities with a new shower room, ceiling to floor windows in the lounge and a wood burning stove Fuidaigh is now a very comfortable and relaxing, family sized, holiday home. The house sleeps 6 most comfortably in three bedrooms, a double bedroom a king size bedroom and a twin bedroom with 2 x 3ft 6in wide beds. The kitchen is spacious and light and a great place for cooking, dining and planning the next days activities. The lounge is also a spacious room with great views, a wood burning stove and plenty of comfy seating for everyone. Those who know South Uist need no introduction to those fabulous, island long, sandy beaches on the west coast and Fuidaigh is ideally situated to access them for all day long walks or just a leisurely relaxing day listening to the surf and the gulls. A short drive will take you across a causeway to the Island if Eriskay where there is an excelent shop, pub and restaurant. From here you can take a day trip sail to the Isle of Barra. Local, and a short walk from the house is the Polochar Inn where great meals can be had. Or just wander down for a glass of something. There is a local Coop in Daliburgh about 5 minute drive. A local cafe is a pleasant walk away along the beach and there are a wealth of historic and archaeological sites to visit. Ocean View Cottages also includes Smiddy Cottage which is close to Fuidaigh and can be let in conjunction if you need to accommodate 8. South Uist is a most beautiful island in the southern part of the Outer Hebrides. Sailing by Calmac Ferries from Mallaig to Lochboisdale or from Uig to Lochmaddy.
