  • "We stayed in Chapel House in Dec 23/Jan 24 and it’s a glorious property in a superb location."

The Host, Mary, was also lovely. Have to say, I don’t recognise the comments made by the previous guest (Nicola). I like a clean house and Chapel House was exactly that, and with heart. Thoroughly recommended!

  • "Chapel house is the right place to stay if you want to switch off and recharge the batteries."

Lower Diabaig is absolutely stunning as is Torridon which is a short drive away through the mountain pass. Chapel house has most of the amities you need but I would advise taking extra logs with you during the winter months incase you cannot drive out to buy more. The fridge is a normal under-counter one with a small compartment for a freezer so not a fridge/freezer as we were expecting. Shower is not a walk in but more like a step in. If you are over 6ft you may struggle as my husband did. We didn’t miss having a tv one bit. The view is beautiful but you are located near the owners home & another cabin. There are more houses around then you realise so not totally remote. The small track leading to the cabin is rather untidy which can ruin the appearance of the area. Cleanliness of the cabin could have been much better. I understand cobwebs can appear over night but a few of these cobwebs have been there for weeks. Toothbrush holders could do with replacing or having a very good clean. Also shower grouting could do with a deep clean. Toilet brush needs replacing. Wasn’t expecting to find boxer shorts in the washing machine from the previous occupants, apologies to them but I did bin the boxer shorts. Fridge needs pulling out for a good clean as does the cooker. Cooker inside could also do with a deep clean. The outside steps leading up on to the cabin walk way could do with a handrail. As does the steps leading down from the car parking area. The cabin is set in a tiny woodland which you cannot walk through due to other properties. Apart from the level of cleanliness we did enjoy our stay for Christmas.

  • "It was a fantastic retreat chalet in a wood, the area of Torridon is extremely beautiful."

The weather was cold but no rain, and we explored the area each day. The chalet was extremely cosy with wall heaters and a log burner in lounge. The facilities within chalet were great and we needed nothing. ❤️ The mountain roads are extremely challenging, with epic views

We enjoyed ourselves but due to illness we couldn’t do as much as we would have liked but it was the ideal place to recover and relax. Mary is absolutely lovely and makes the most amazing lemon drizzle cake.

  • "Wow! No words can describe our experience."

From the moment we booked until the moment we arrived home after our holiday everything was absolutely perfect. Mary and Merv were the perfect hosts from the information we received about the property to the Lemon Drizzle cake on arrival to the local information from Merv that led us to meet Callum! If you want peace and quiet, tranquility, peace of mind, just a place to get away from the world and recharge the batteries then this is the place to head to. The views as you approach the village are the best we have ever experienced - and we have seen a few! Be prepared for a drive every day - for us it was perfect but for some it maybe a little too quiet - it is set out of the way. Its a 20 minute drive to the nearest (the only) village store! We cannot rate this highly enough - like I said WOW WOW WOW!!! Thank you Mary and Merv! Once I have some work dates sorted we are coming back next year if the Barn / Chapel are available for our dates.

  • "Diabaig is a fantastic setting with great walks and stunning scenery."

The property was well equipped but it would have been lovely to be able to see the view of the coast which was tantalisingly close but obscured by trees. Lovely to be in a woodland setting but a bit of tree-trimming would have greatly enhanced the location.

  • "Our lodge was superb."

Everything we needed and more was provided. We even had a lemon cake left for us, which was really delicious. The owners were very nice as well and were pleased to help if needed. It was really warm and cosy especially with the log burner on. We didn’t want to leave. The only thing that would of give the cabin an 11 out of ten, would be a hot tub.

  • "Chapel House was very well presented on arrival with excellent directions and communication from the owners."

Flowers and delicious homemade cake were lovely to walk into and property was spotless. Very welcoming. The house has everything you need, in a peaceful setting and perfect for escaping the rat race. Information and maps of local area and walks and a great log burner, all in all we were very impressed. The only thing that let it down for us was the bed which we found too small, not very comfortable after a long day out walking and creaked loudly even if one of us turned over. Apart from this we couldn't fault the cottage and Mary's attention to detail. Thank you!.

  • "Chapel House is a secluded retreat in a very quiet wooded hillside near the Loch."

The house is very well equipped. The owners have carefully thought through everything one could need and we're very happy to offer advice on the local area. Diabeg is a lovely little village at the end of a long very picturesque single track road.

Chapel House was spotlessly clean and the owners were very kind and helpful. Their welcome tray included a delicious home-made lemon drizzle cake. If you are comfortable to abstain from modern tech and TV for a week to just be and soak up the peacefulness and natural beauty of Torridon - you will love this place! Great for walkers, cyclists and climbers.

  • "Chapel House is the most lovely and picturesque place to have a holiday."

The views down to the harbour at Diabaig from the end of the road are stunning, it is a real bolt hole from 21st century living. Mervyn and Mary are a very welcoming couple, who could not do enough to ensure that we had everything that we needed. The house is warm and comfortable, and extremely well equipped, and it was very pleasant to leave televisions and technology behind for a few days. Lovely walks, friendly people, a place to be thoroughly recommended.

  • "Amazing cabin in a secluded location."

We booked this property to take a break from a hectic few months. The area is perfect for anyone interested in the outdoors, it’s hard to beat Torridon. We spent our days hiking, paddle boarding and exploring the wider area. Plenty of options for good food and local stores were well stocked. We spent our evening relaxing by the fire. With no phone signal, it was a perfect getaway!

  • "Another brilliant stay in Diabaig."

A lovely welcome pack, fantastic hosts. Chapel house has everything we needed for our trip away for hogmanay. This is the second visit we've visited and this was just as good as the first. Our main reasons for the visit were walking and relaxation and this is the perfect location for both

  • "We had a lovely peaceful week here at the end of August."

The house is so well equipped and extremely cosy, so even though we were not lucky with the weather, it didn't matter a bit. Thanks so much to the owners who went above and beyond to make our stay so nice.

  • "We had a fantastic few days in Chapel House in April 2018."

The cottage is cosy, comfortable and in a wonderful setting in birch woodland filled with wildlife. It was perfect to return to after a day out on the Torridon hills! The owner left us homemade lemon drizzle cake, as well as teas and coffee, which was lovely to arrive to after a long journey. The house feels very secluded along a single-track road from Torridon - a perfect location if you want a 'get away from it all' retreat! The views through the trees to Loch Torridon are spectacular.
