  • "Of all the places I have visited - this booking delighted me the most!"

The owners have done an incredible amount of well-thought out design features and amenities. Extremely, extremely clean and well maintained. It was so well located - across from the tidal river and beach, (and Scotland's most norther distillery a short distance away!) along with incredible remote beaches . The pictures - spectacular - do not do the house and location justice. And best of all - no neighbours close by - so peace and quiet!

Very well stocked with comfortable furnishings. The bed was very comfortable. The location is super with sweeping views over Uig Bay and easy access to surrounding bays and coastlines. The standard of cleanliness was very high all round. We would highly recommend the property for a holiday.

Comfortably and tastefully furnished. Incomparable location with fantastic views. The only problem we had was with the wifi and it was sorted out impressively quickly by the owner. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Absolutely superb property in quiet surroundings, a perfect place to relax and unwind."

Everything you need is on hand and extremely clean and tidy. The drive to 7 carnish is brilliant along the single track road ( lots of passing places ). We saw lots of deer.....amazing, especially early morning. We were recommended to visit the Mangersta Bothy, which is a short way from the house. We did and it was well worth it as we were lucky enough to meet John, who with his wife built the Bothy and told us the history it. Also, don't forget to visit the community shop.Im sure you can buy everything you might need and more , served with a smile. Enjoy. Ann and Dave.

  • "Lovely location, clean, warm, cosy well equipped cottage with fantastic views."

It is unclear exactly what can be done over the WiFi as the information in the folder talks about there being a usage limit and not to download. We weren't sure whether we could connect to BBC iplayer and sounds etc.

  • "I originally wanted to book Oran Na Mara for my bucket list trip to Lewis & Harris for my 50th birthday but am really glad I didn't and booked 7 Carnish instead, location is fabulous, fabulous, fabulous!"

! Really comfortable and the best equipped cottage I have ever stayed in. The view is spectacular, no clever photography hiding the fact that the main road through the island runs in front of the property, you have the deck, garden, river and then the beach. Really peaceful location just you and the wildlife. You can watch deer our the back while you wash up, saw all kinds birds including Wheater, Cuckoo, Stonechats & many many more. Cannot recommend 7 Carnish enough for a trip to Lewis.

  • "Fabulous property in a superb position overlooking a truly breathtaking beach."

Incredible views that are constantly changing with the weather and tide. So peaceful, so relaxing, with a fantastic restaurant (Uig Sands) 10 minutes away, and a whisky distillery literally at the end of the road... what's not to like!

  • "A wonderful property located on the prettiest part of the island."

Breathtaking views of the sea and beach. Cottage fully equipped with great attention to detail, Owners very helpful and friendly. Incredible views of otter eating fish on rocks from the balcony. Would recommend Uig smoked salmon, wonderful meal at Uig Sands Restaurant, great walk back along the beach with a paddle through the river. Well stocked local community shop 6 minute drive away. Will definitely return again.

  • "This is honestly the nicest holiday let we have ever stayed in."

The location is breathtaking, direct access to the beach over the small stream was amazing. The cottage itself is beautiful and couldn’t be faulted. It’s the type of place you don’t want other people to find because you want it to yourself! Absolutely perfect :-)

  • "Lovely cottage for a family."

Alistair and Gayle have done a fantastic job renovating their uncle's old home into a wonderful holiday property. We were travelling with our two teenage sons and really liked this cottage as it had two single bedrooms giving them their own space for the week. This is quite unusual for properties for four people. Cottage was well equipped and as for the location what more can I say. Just outstanding!

Great Bernera 23.2. miles; Stornoway 35.9 miles; Callanish 20.5 miles.

Uig is a village resting on the edge of Uig Bay on the west coast of the Isle of Lewis and takes its name from the Norse word for ‘bay’. It is known for its rugged landscapes and attractive sand dunes with stunning views over the Atlantic. Dining options include the impressive Uig Sands restaurant (in season) or head to the Uig Community Cafe which serves a great selection of food. There is also a distillery here at Abhainn Dearg. You can stock up on essentials at the Uig Community Shop. Just outside of the village is nearby Miavaig Pier where visitors can take boat trips to outlying islands.
