“Falls Cottage is a fantastic place to stay on Skye.”

The property is of a very high standard - and everything 'works' as it should. The location is outatanding and a great location to reach the rest of the island. Maggie & Roddy are great hosts and extremley welcoming and hospitable. This is a unique holiday cottage and we will certainly be back.

“Waine, York Sept 2022 This cottage is fabulous ,with lovely views and is beautifully appointed .”

Downstairs the lounge and kitchen are very comfortable and well equipped and furnished - even a stair gate . The sofas also have foot rests ( so nice !) The bedrooms are large & luxurious with large en-suite bathrooms with very large walk in showers . Both bedrooms have very comfortable Queen size beds ( never found a cottage with beds this size before !) The hosts are very friendly and have thought about every detail - we really enjoyed the treats when we arrived - Prosecco / Skye Beer / milk and bread plus more - so kind . The home baking was a lovely surprise after a long day out . The outdoor seating area is a lovely place to enjoy the views and we did as the weather was glorious all week !.The cottage was ideally placed for exploring theTrotternish Duirinish and Waternish peninsulas with ease and also the Isle Of Oronsay .Hopefully we will be back one day

The property is lovely and in a great location to get around Skye. It was lovely to come back to Falls cottage at the end of a busy day and Maggie and Roddy were great hosts who made us feel very welcome. The facilities in the cottage are superb if you want to spend time relaxing there and great options for eating nearby in Uig as an alternative. We highly recommend Falls Cottage and Skye for a perfect break. We will definitely be back.

A high-spec, warm and comfortable cottage which comes with incredible views, and is a short drive away from Portree and all the sights of the Trotternish Peninsula. The bedrooms were incredible, the bathrooms were luxurious and the kitchen had everything we needed.

“My husband and I were privileged to be the first guests at Falls Cottage in Skye and we couldn’t recommend the accommodation more highly.”

The cottage was in a stunning location with lovely walks from the accommodation itself. The cottage was really cosy, comfortable and beautifully equipped with beautiful views. The overall facilities and equipment in the kitchen were outstanding and a real home from home. Maggie had thoughtfully provided us with basic supplies such as bread, milk, butter, eggs, fruit as well as freshly baked scones and shortbread. She even kept us supplied with home baking throughout the whole week. Roddy and Maggie were both so approachable and welcoming and we couldn’t have wished for better hosts, a fabulous holiday for sure. Thank you.

More pictures will be added once the grass has grown.Falls Cottage newly completed for 2022 and has been built with comfort and energy efficiency in mind. It has a wood burning stove which provides a lovely focal point in the evening. Located on Trotternish peninsula which is at the northern end of the Isle of Skye. The well-equipped kitchen has plenty of space for your shopping and provides a relaxing place to cook and prepare meals and snacks. Outside the comfortable garden furniture ensures alfresco dining at every opportunity.Both bedrooms have comfortable super king beds. These rooms can accommodate the requirement for twin bedded room by utilising the sprung sofa beds. Endless hot water and in the ultra-modern showers will refresh you after a day exploring.A tour around the peninsula to wonder at the popular rock formations of Quiraing, Kilt rock and the Old man of Storr is a must! Taking the circular route explore the town of Portree, the capital of the Island, browsing in the eclectic mix of shops and if you have time take a break to sample the local cuisine. The owners of Falls Cottage live close by and are mindful of your privacy but are always happy to guide you to what is best and beautiful in an area they love. Dunvegan Castle and gardens is a short drive in a southerly direction, as well as the Giant Angus Macaskill Museum to learn about the tallest Scotsman ever to have lived, and the tallest recorded true giant. For foodies take a detour to the Stein Inn for local beers and excellent seafood during busy weeks please book in advance. Sample the local Talisker whisky at the nearest distillery and remember to take some home to share with friends and family.Walkers and Munro baggers are spoilt for choice. The Cuillins are the popular attractions and very well-known but there are many walks and routes for all abilities. EPC Rating: Band B

Portree 15 miles.

The village of Uig (pronounced "Oo-ig"), at the northern tip of Skye, rests on the shores of Loch Snizort, Skye’s largest sea loch off the Atlantic. The village boasts two pubs, two shops, a hotel, a filling station and cafe, as well as two other businesses well-worth a visit. Uig Pottery sells a range of high quality pottery produced on-site, while the Skye Brewery sells its own superb real ales from the brewery shop. Sheltered by high cliffs, the bay is one of the most beautiful in Skye, and is home to the ferry terminal for the Outer Hebrides. Wildlife in the area includes golden eagles, sea eagles, pilot whales, seals and dolphins. The attractions of the Isle, including the main town of Portree, are all within easy reach of this tranquil base.
