  • "Well equipped and maintained property overlooking the shore."

Access to the main beach is about a mile further up the road. Only drawback was that the land next door seems to be used as a construct plant storage area, albeit there was no activity there during our stay.

  • "An beautiful cottage with amazing views."

The cottage is very well equipped with everything you need. The beds were so comfortable and the shower was fantastic! The cottage is furnished beautifully and the colour scheme compliments the landscape in every way. We will definitely return!

  • "One Luskentyre is a true ‘home from home’ but with bells on."

Comfort, cleanliness, facilities, location, views - no criticism! This was our second visit and the cleaning team/housekeepers are second to none in terms of efficiency and friendliness. We will most definitely be back ❤️

  • "The house was very large and comfortable for 2 couples sharing - clean and well decorated and maintained."

The long kitchen was great. Very civilised dining room with speaker. Great shower. The sitting room was very dark however with one small window under the new front external canopy. A glazed front porch would have been more useful to enjoy the view, out of the wind and midges. And it was a shame that the neighbouring property was a dumping ground for old machinery.

  • "The property is lovely."

Things that might help improve the experience and also make people aware of the surroundings: On opening the door the property smells of damp Welcome pack might be appreciated by guests More than one and a half toilet rolls being left for week might be handy Dishwasher tablets might be handy Shaving socket would be handy Washing basket to carry washing to the line would be handy Clothes horse would be handy Windows were dirty inside and out although window cleaner did arrive whilst we were there to clean outside but not a great improvement. Grass needs cut Driveway is extremely rough Next door is like a scrap yard spoiling a beautiful view but appreciate this is not your problem

Great to hear you thought the property was lovely. Sorry that you found several issues and thank you for your feedback to let us know so that we can look into them. New dishwasher and washing tablet caddys have been ordered along with a basket for carrying washing out to the line. There are contracts in place for regular grass cutting and window cleaning and i will explore what has happened. I have asked the maintenance team to explore adding a shaving socket in the bathroom. Thanks again for your feedback. Hope to see you again soon. Property Owner

  • "The house was great all round and we really enjoyed our week, thank you."

Top tips for anyone staying - there is a bean to cup coffee maker so if you like your coffee take some beans, wish we had known but plenty of alternatives like a caffatiere. - we took our own camping chairs to sit out the front as the views are truly spectacular! There is a wooden bench but we wanted some comfy seats! - every cooking implement is provided so take plenty of food as the nearest Tesco is a 2 hour round trip but there are local shops near by but a drive away. I would highly recommend staying here, it’s truly beautiful.

Great to hear you really enjoyed your week at the cottage and found it truly beautiful. Thanks for your 'highly recommended' comment - thats much appreciated. Hope to see you returning soon. Property Owner

  • "The house is beautiful, however it could do with a few practical things, for example, a mirror over the wash hand basin In upstairs shower room ( for shaving etc) the one above toilet is lovely but not practical, somewhere in shower to put toiletries while having a shower."

Finally the industrial type lights in kitchen are also lovely but could do with spotlights above kitchen sink (like u have in sitting room) industrial lighting casts shadows making it hard to see if pots etc are 100% clean. These may seem minor things, but are quite important. That said we thoroughly enjoyed our time in ur home, it is very luxurious and we would highly recommend it to anyone who is coming to Harris! We shall return!

Thank you very much for your very positive review and for recommending the cottage to anyone coming to Harris. It's always great to hear guest experiences. Thank you also for the helpful pointers on items to make the cottage more comfortable. The shower tray for toiletries is already in place! I have asked the maintenance team to review adding spotlights and a mirror as you suggest. Looking forward to seeing you again soon! Property Owner

  • "Unfortunately our holiday was not as we had hoped."

Many cleaning issues that the owner tried to rectify. Forever finding broken glass in the kitchen(not great with a dog). Cleanliness was a big issue. Stained sheets etc. missing mattress protection… I could go on and on. For the premium price of the property, looking back at our stay, it was not good value for money in comparison to other properties in the area. Arriving on a Saturday evening and everything on the island closed on Sunday. To have no welcome pack of at least a carton of milk and bread. Again if luxury should this be included. Talked to many locals about our problems who had heard similar stories about the property. We had to haggle the owner for a more respectable offer of a refund. LHH then appeared to hold on to the refund for as long as possible. Would never use the company again.

Thank you for your booking and for being in touch immediately, which gave me the opportunity to address the housekeeping issues. It's helpful to explain that there is a welcome gift for guests to take home as a reminder of their holiday, though as you note no perishable items. This is in response to guest feedback noting most prefer to bring their own supplies for their stay. And it has stopped the wastage from perishable items previously left unused. Once again, thank you for your booking and feedback. Property Owner

  • "One Luskentyre was the loveliest property in the most beautiful location - the nicest we have experienced yet, and being able to have our dog along made it the perfect property for us."

Both the owner and the cleaner went to extraordinary lengths to provide the warmest welcome and ensure everything was perfect with every last detail attended to and some beautiful touches. We have already booked a return stay. A wonderful experience!

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback. Its always great to hear when guests have an amazing holiday. Thanks also for being in touch about the keybox issue as it's meant I have now had it attended to. I'm delighted you have booked a return stay, we're looking forward to welcoming you back. The view is the best I know. The cottage is incredibly comfortable, brilliantly appointed with every convenience and comfort you could wish for, and is the perfect base - for exploring the island on sunny days, for walks on Luskentyre beach when the weather is mixed, and for relaxing when there are grey clouds.’
