“The house was great all round and we really enjoyed our week, thank you.”

Top tips for anyone staying - there is a bean to cup coffee maker so if you like your coffee take some beans, wish we had known but plenty of alternatives like a caffatiere. - we took our own camping chairs to sit out the front as the views are truly spectacular! There is a wooden bench but we wanted some comfy seats! - every cooking implement is provided so take plenty of food as the nearest Tesco is a 2 hour round trip but there are local shops near by but a drive away. I would highly ...

The property

1 Luskentyre is very definitely a luxury holiday home in the most enviable position, sitting as it does, almost on the sands of the world class Luskentyre beach - voted one of the top beaches in the world by Trip Advisor. It also offers flexible entry and departure days during low season. Newly renovated, this former croft house is now a most charming, atmospheric and comfortable holiday cottage for 4, with the added luxury of a hot tub in an oak gazebo, discretely positioned to the rear of the house and facing the west, for magnificent sunsets. To the front is the breathtaking expanse of Luskentyre beach which will draw you out to explore, paddle or swim. Peacefully situated, away from the main Harris road south, yet within easy drive of Tarbert, Scarista, Leverburgh and even the attractions of Lewis. However, it is hard to see why you would want to leave this idyllic piece of heaven, other than to perhaps enjoy a meal at one of the excellent restaurants in Harris where you can enjoy seafood or home cooked meals. The cottage was newly renovated in 2020 and is tastefully furnished. The kitchen is large and well equipped and ideal for those who will enjoy cooking the fine local produce which can be purchased, from seafood to local meat. The community store in Leverburgh is well stocked and will, with enough notice, bring in special requests such as items from an award winning butcher in Lewis. Whilst the islands are noted for their fresh seafood, vegetarians need not feel marginalised as An Talla offers delicious alternatives as does the Temple Cafe at Northton. We are sure you will find 1 Luskentyre really is Number One! A week here will rejuvenate you for months but will leave memories for a lifetime. The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert, or Ullapool to Stornoway. EPC Rating: Band D
