“The bungalow was really clean and well presented.”
It was simple but with everything we needed. It was spacious, comfortable with lovely bathroom and kitchen. All the equipment was in good working order and seemed brand new. Also. John greeted us when we arrived and was really helpful and friendly. I loved the fact that each bedroom had a chair, tissues, lovely big wardrobe with nice hangers plus extra blankets if needed. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and appreciated returning each day after our walks and daytime visits around the island. We would not hesitate to recommend anyone to visit this property. We hope very much to return, in fact we were really sad to leave and wished we had booked to stay another week. We loved the peace and quiet, the sheep walking past the windows each day, the views, the short walks to what has to be the finest beaches in the world, the space. I would move in given half a chance !! I loved sitting at the kitchen table with the radio on looking at my guide books or doing a bit of sewing. It was superb.

The property
Taigh an Uillt is ideal for a family holiday and the dog is welcome too! Being just a very short walk from a lovely sandy beach means plenty of fun days for children and healthy romps for the 4 legged member of the family! However, this whole peninsula is just a wealth of white sandy beaches - each with their own distinctive character. Uig Sands are on a par with Luskentyre in Harris given the vast scale of the various beaches which form these sands.
There is a community shop which is very well stocked and also a community centre which houses a museum and cafe. Miavaig Harbour where you can often buy freshly-landed shellfish in the morning is just a short drive.
Stornoway is just an hour drive and Harris just over an hour and a half.
The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert, or Ullapool to Stornoway.
Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
