  • "Taigh an Uillt is a fantastic property situated in the beautiful village of Kneep with easy access to the Kneep, Valtos and spectacular Reef beaches."

John is a superb host and is always extremely helpful. We cannot recommend Taigh an Uillt enough having stayed here many times now.

  • "We had a lovely time in this cottage."

The location is brilliant and the garden was perfect for our dog. The garden furniture was very much appreciated as we had very good weather. Access to the beautiful beach was great. There is a resident rat near the oil tank in the garden that we spotted a few times but it was not a problem for us. Just saying in case there are young children around. The only issues we had were minor. Larger towels would have been good and we definitely wanted more mugs. We thought there was a missed opportunity with regard to the size of the windows. Those in the sitting room could have been larger to take advantage of the lovely views. Thanks to John for a lovely comfortable week.

  • "We had a great holiday at John's cottage and we will return next year for another 2 weeks."

Great to have conversations with real local folk and John is a marvellous host. On a point of business we have booked with "Sykes" but they have not confirmed our booking and deposit for next year. Ian and Isobel Short

Has everything you need for a home away from home. Location was perfect for us. Being able to look out the living room window and see the sea is just great. John was a very nice host, very friendly and knowledgeable about the island. Will be back next year.

  • "A lovely and very comfortable house which could cope with us arriving back after a day out in whatever the weather gave us - from boots covered in sand to wet walking gear."

The area is beautiful, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the very quiet location offering a huge variety of walks. Many thanks, John, for such a reviving two weeks' stay.

Our second time although i have been coming to the area for a long time. We are booked again for next year. A week isn't long enough though. The house is beautiful, fresh and clean and very spacious.

  • "March 2018 - 11 degrees and sunny and calm all day!"

Spent all afternoon on Riof Beach which has to be just about the most wonderful beach in the whole of the Hebrides. The sand is almost pure white and the sea a brilliant turquoise. The house is a home from home with everything you could need. It is one of the cleanest cottages I have stayed in - everything pristine. The Bhaltos area is fascinating and well rewards just wandering around. The loop walk all round the peninsula is worth doing if you get a good day. Definitely recommend. Watched a sea eagle for a while from the headland at Cliff beach.

  • "The bungalow was really clean and well presented."

It was simple but with everything we needed. It was spacious, comfortable with lovely bathroom and kitchen. All the equipment was in good working order and seemed brand new. Also. John greeted us when we arrived and was really helpful and friendly. I loved the fact that each bedroom had a chair, tissues, lovely big wardrobe with nice hangers plus extra blankets if needed. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and appreciated returning each day after our walks and daytime visits around the island. We would not hesitate to recommend anyone to visit this property. We hope very much to return, in fact we were really sad to leave and wished we had booked to stay another week. We loved the peace and quiet, the sheep walking past the windows each day, the views, the short walks to what has to be the finest beaches in the world, the space. I would move in given half a chance !! I loved sitting at the kitchen table with the radio on looking at my guide books or doing a bit of sewing. It was superb.
