  • "We had a wonderful stay in a beautiful cottage a stones throw from the beautiful beach and harbour would hope to visit again."

  • "The cottage was spotlessly clean the facilities were good (the week previous to our first week there were guests using both houses and they had moved many of the kitchen utensils."

The owner messaged me to check we had all we should have and arranged for us to access missing utensils).

  • "I would highly recommend staying at Taigh Eachainn cottage."

A stone throw away from a beautiful beach , safe, and spotless. Taigh Eachainn cottage was cleaned to a high standard, the beds were the best we have slept in, when renting a cottage. The kitchen was well equipped, however come prepared, with kitchen utensils, (kitchen roll, kitchen foil , extra bin liners etc) for self catering. This was just a small thing and did not spoil out holiday. We will certainly return to Lewis and Harris.

Dear Fiona, we am sorry you were disappointed not to find kitchen roll, foil or cling film. We do not provide these. They are readily available in the local shop. We normally aim to provide 2 bin and compost bags and if this was not the case I can only apologise. As far as kitchen utensils are concerned, we hope you enjoyed the wide range from food processor, kitchen scales, pizza cutter through to cake tins. Best wishes, Jane and Norman Property Owner

  • "The cottage is in an absolutely stunning location."

The view from the garden is amazing. We have had a fantastic week away, fantastic bird life right on your doorstep. We travelled to Tiumpan Head to see Minke Whales, Porpoise and Dolphins. The cottage has all you need and the beds are very comfortable, bathrooms spotless, shower was great. The only thing we would change and it didn’t spoil our holiday one bit was the sofa in the lounge which wasn’t very comfortable. We will be recommending this cottage to any friends who wish to visit Lewis.

We’re glad you had a good time. One of the sofas in the sitting room is also a sofa bed which others have found useful for extra accommodation. This is probably the one you found uncomfortable. Best wishes Jane and Norman Property Owner

  • "This is one of those cottages that you really don't want to give a glowing reference for because you won't be able to get it again."

.. but the location in Bhaltos, with virtually your own white sand beach and the glorious bigger beaches of cliff and reef a stones throw away ... is nigh on perfect. As a paddleboarder, the bay and islands are a joy to tour round... and there's a garage where you can store your kit ... and a hose to rinse it off. The cottage itself was spotless and very well equipped... the Uig community shop stocks everything you really need (inc click and collect of essentials) and was very friendly. The Uig Sands restaurant was great... but you do need to book well in advance. All in all... a fantastic stay

  • "We loved the house!"

! It was cozy and restful. The kitchen had everything we needed and was very well organized to allow us to cook while there. The house instructions were very clear and the owner was very responsive when we had a question. We were sad to leave after 3 days and will definitely be back. Thank you!

  • "We loved the house and found it welcoming and comfortable."

The owners were easy to contact and left a delicious collection of home made marmalade, biscuits and fudge for us. It felt as if they wanted to make sure their guests had a good experience. Its situation just 2 minutes from the beach was perfect for our keen swimmers. A lovely house in a lovely peaceful township.we would certainly consider returning another time.

  • "A fabulous cottage a short stroll from a gorgeous beach."

The cottage was superb - well appointed/set out and cozy. We had dogs with us so the entrance vestibule was great for leaving the dog paraphernalia as well as coats/boots etc. A super kitchen/dining area with all mod cons and a lovely sitting room with log burner. One of the nicest cottages I’ve stayed in over the years. The owners were also super at providing all sorts of helpful information on the cottage and surrounding area. Will definitely return
