The property

Seasmach agus Dileas (Constant and True) is a new, luxurious and fabulously spacious vacation home, enjoying a premium site on the North coast of North Uist overlooking Vallay Strand and the Island of Vallay. The house is approached down a private track through forest trees, which serve not only as a windbreak but also ensures the utmost privacy for your time here, allowing you to relax in comfort and peace. Arriving at the house and entering through the spacious family games room is just the beginning of an experience which will continue to evolve as you enter the vast, cathedral ceilinged, glass walled main living space. The bedrooms are spacious and the bathrooms are luxurious. Quality, comfort and style sum up this most stunning of holiday houses and this is only the beginning. The choice of name reflects the owners wish that small, intimate weddings may be held here and an outside area, suitable for fine weather weddings, has been created. If the weather is not kind, the main room in the house will provide the perfect backdrop. North Uist is a place of white pristine sands, glittering sea inlets, off shore islands and vast skies. Life ticks along in the traditional crofting way and the seasons present a different face each time. Hire bikes (or bring your own) and explore the plethora of single track roads which wind their way through and round the island. Fishing is important to the islands and there are excellent seafood outlets and restaurants. Or why not order a delivery of lobster to the house and enjoy a meal in the secluded garden. Flights to Benbecua Airport (40 minute drive from the house) are possible and ferry sailings from Uig Skye to Lochmaddy North Uist run daily and the house is only 20 minutes from the ferry terminal. Day sailings to Harris, Eriskay and Barra can be undertaken during your stay and we recommend that, if at all possible, you undertake the adventure to St Kilda, an awe inspiring island 50 miles out to the west of the Hebrides. Need to work on holiday? A dedicated office on the mezzanine is provided including unlimited fast wi-fi. Remote working in the wilderness doesn't get much better than this with world class views from dawn till dusk. Children are most welcome and 2 of the bedrooms are family rooms with a double and a single bed. In addition to the 4 bedrooms, the mezzanine has a 7ft wide sofa bed. This area can be screened from the stairs and sits above the main living space. The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Lochmaddy, or Oban to Lochboisdale.

About the location

LOCHMADDY, NORTH UIST

Balivanich 18 miles.

The village of Lochmaddy is the terminus for the daily ferry linking it to Uig on the Isle of Skye and it is also the main centre of population for the island of North Uist. Lochmaddy has good facilities and services including a selection of hotels serving fresh local produce in their dining rooms. A visit to the award-winning museum and arts centre located in the centre of Lochmaddy is a must, and there is also a tourist office full of information about local events and places to visit. The road south of Lochmaddy will lead you to the village of Carinish some 10 miles away and if you continue on this road you can cross the causeway to the island of Benbecula. The town of Balivanich in Benbecula offers shops, post office, a bank, restaurant, a petrol station and an airport, from which car hire can be arranged. The causeway from Benbecula then leads onward to the island of South Uist.
