The property

Dùn na Cille House is most beautifully positioned on a private track and overlooking a loch, which is well known for trout fishing. Permits are available and it's the perfect place to practice your fly fishing technique - just through a gate and a short wander down from the house. The house is spacious, light and airy and having been a family home until recently, is an amazingly well stocked home from home. This is especially so for families with children and babies who are well catered for. Yet it also lends itself to a luxurious holiday home for friends to share. Dining out on the deck and drinking in the stunning views and sunsets are memorable. All rooms are on a large scale and the main sitting room is overlooked by a large mezzanine level, the view from which is sublime. With 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and a further 2 wash rooms on the ground floor, the living is easy! Dine in the kitchen, the dining room or on the deck - every occasion accommodated. The master bedroom on the ground floor has an en-suite with steam shower and deep, free standing, bath. The main lounge is huge and has a high cathedral ceiling, from which falls a stunning cascading crystal chandelier. It is hard to overstate all that Dùn na Cille House has to offer. The area is of a crofting community surrounding the shores of the loch with the long white sandy beach and ocean just a short distance. With a fascinating archaeological history and recent historical interest, it is well worth visiting the museum a short drive away to find out all the various sites you have a short way from the house. There is a supermarket, pub, cafe and community store all within 5 - 15 minutes drive and South Uist is reached by ferry from Mallaig or Uig on Skye and also by plane to Benbecula. Eriskay is reached by causeway and is just 10 minute drive and from Eriskay you can take a day trip to Barra by car ferry.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
