The property

Braemore Chalet is a snug and cosy escape for two, just 10 miles from the ferry terminal in Tarbert and a short distance from the bridge over to the Isle of Scalpay. The woodburning stove ensures year round warmth and the views from the chalet are super. Harris is rich in wildlife and from Braemore it is easy to spot eagles and otters close to the house. On Harris you will find unspoilt beaches, excellent cycling, hillwalking and coastal walking. There is a particularly attractive circular walk around Scalpay which takes in the Eilean Glas lighthouse, one of the earliest built . From here you have a stunning view across The Minch to the Isle of Skye. Tarbert is where the Harris Gin Distillery is located and the cafe/restaurant serves delicious home made food - as well as gin tastings in the distillery. Across from the distillery is the famour Harris Tweed Centre - ideal for picking up these special gifts or mementoes to take home. Head down to the south of the islands and experience the fabulous necklace of beaches or head north to the drama of the big hills. Stornoway is just an hour drive so exploring Lewis is easily achievable. Whatever you do - come back to the warm welcome of Braemore Chalet and enjoy the peace. The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert, or Ullapool to Stornoway. EPC Rating: Band B
