“We had a fabulous week at St Clements View.”

A great house, with the most amazing views! The house itself is home from home, well equipped and comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. A nice easy walk from the house to St Clements Church treated us to sightings of a Golden Eagle, buzzards, an otter and a seal swimming in the bay. We had a truly relaxing and idyllic week and would thoroughly recommend this property.

The property

St Clement's View is a luxury self catering holiday home situated in a superior location in the village of Borrisdale on the beautiful Isle of Harris. Originally a traditional croft house, the house has been extended and renovated to take advantage of its elevated position. The large lounge area has panoramic views over the Uists, the Isle of Skye, the Sound of Harris, Berneray and the village of Rodel. The historic St Clement's church, where many choose to marry, is clearly visible from the house. For those wishing to escape to the most peaceful of places this has got to be tops - because the road goes no further. Exploring the coast beyond here must be on foot, but those who take the footpath across to the church are rewarded with the most tremendous views. From Leverburgh, a day trip to The Uist islands is possible to see the very different nature of the two islands. The beaches on the west coast of Harris are definitely the big pull to the island with their clean sands and turquoise sea - just stunning. Even the names capture the imagination; Luskentyre, Horgabost, Seilebost and Scarista - all Norse origin, a testament to the Vikings occupancy of the islands. The islands can be reached by flights from Edinburgh, Glasgow or Inverness; or by ferry from Uig on Skye to Tarbert, or Ullapool to Stornoway.

EPC Rating: Band E

Borrisdale is a remote seaside village resting between Carminish and Glen Kyles, the Isle of Harris. From here, you can also explore the Isle of Lewes and the Isle of Scalpay via causeways between the islands, giving you yet more hikes and beaches to visit.
