The property

Saltwinds is beautifully positioned, overlooking Fiskavaig Bay, with a backdrop of the MacLeod Tables and with the majestic Cuillin Mountains just 15 minutes away. Sunsets over the water are spectacular and plentiful windows take advantage of the ever changing colours. The house was designed and built seven years ago and provides a spacious, light and very well appointed base for relaxing or energetic holidays. It will appeal to outdoor enthusiasts, with its proximity to sea and mountains and provision of a drying room, and to those who wish a beautiful base from which to explore the many attractions of Skye. Fiskavaig is on the delightful Minginish Peninsula on the west coast of the Isle of Skye. The area is home to otters, seals, dolphins, deer and the occasional golden eagle. The beach, close to the house, is safe for bathing and pottering in a dinghy and a great starting point for sea kayaking. There are coastal and hill walks nearby, as well as mountain walking and climbing in the nearby Cuillins. The toll-free Skye Bridge is approximately 55 minutes' drive and Portree, the capital of the island, is 21 miles away. Dunvegan Castle, historic monument and home to the Clan MacLeod since 1200, is 25 miles up the coast while the Talisker Distillery and Visitor Centre, producing Skye's celebrated malt whisky, is just 10 minutes away. Skye's only oyster farm is also nearby. Licence number: HI-30033-P
