We enjoyed cycling to the nearby beach which was a short and safe cycle for children. The owners gave us a warm welcome and left some basics like milk and bread and some appreciated treats. We had a fabulous time and thoroughly recommend this place. Thank you.

  • "This cottage is a gem of a find!"

Tucked away on a quiet peaceful road in South Boisdale not far from the sea within easy distance to Barra, Eriskay, Benbecula and North Uist. The outside belies the interior which is modern, stylish, spotlessly clean with views over the plain and nearby loch. It has an exceptionally well equipped kitchen and every essential required in the bathroom. Our ferry was delayed and we didn't arrive until 9pm and Rona, the owner, was there to give us a warm welcome and a hospitality basket of bread, milk, tea, coffee, shortbread, smoked salmon. There is a good selection of illustrated books which gives you an understanding of the culture and history of the island before you begin to explore. This cottage is perfect for a tranquil and relaxing break and I would most definitely recommend it.

Decent wifi, enough for streaming, video calls, and working. Off the main road so not much traffic, nice and peaceful. Delightful owners who live nearby. All around great stay, would gladly stay again.

It is so comfortable, beautifully decorated and spotless. The views are stunning and it is not too far to the sea. We had our dog with us and he enjoyed the freedom of the large enclosed garden. The owners are nearby and ready to help with any questions about the house and the area. We loved staying here and are already planning our next trip. We highly recommend Dun Buidhe.
