The property

The first customers to stay in the house at the end of February had this to say: "Well, where do we start! Probably by saying that this has got to be one of the most amazing and luxurious properties we have ever rented, and we have stayed in many! We had the honour of being the first visitors to this property, and what treat we were in for! The bedrooms are exquisitely furnished with the best bedding, the en-suites are fantastic, the main sitting area is large and comfortable, and there is a cosy snug area equipped with a TV and games. The views from the front to the nearby mountains are un-obstructed and beautiful. The kitchen is absolutely stunning, and is equipped with the highest quality utensils and everything you ever need. If you love cooking, you'll love this kitchen. All in all, a fantastic property with such close attention to detail makes it a wonderful, cosy and comfortable stay. And to crown it all, we had fantastic weather during our stay making the whole experience idyllic! Cannot wait to return." Luxury combined with convenience sums up what Mullach Ruadh can offer. The luxury is in the house itself, a well built and spacious house with a contemporary makeover, furnished in style and with an elaborate and fully effective heating arrangement which will defy any Scottish winter! The convenience comes from its location on the famous Road to the Isles, allowing quick access to many of the most spectacular tourist spots in the area and from its close proximity to the Prince's House Hotel - just a short stroll for a meal and a dram! Screened from the road by mature trees and shrubs and surrounded by lush garden the house is perfect for relaxing outdoors on the deck just admiring the wonderful views of mountains and glen. It just doesn't come better. This is an ideal family house but would also work well for friends or couples as the two twin bedrooms can also be made up as super-king. Fort William is under a half hour drive, as is Arisaig from where you can take sail round Rhum, Muck and Eigg. The Glenfinnan Railway Viaduct, made so well known through the Harry Potter films runs nearby and it is a wonderful experience to take the Hogwarts Express from Glenfinnan to Mallaig and back - experiencing the delights of the old steam train and carriages. In Glenfinnan Station there is a railway carriage restaurant car - great for breakfast, lunches and afternoon tea. Outdoor enthusiasts need no guidance in what is available in this area from mountaineering to mountain biking; hill walking to skiing. It's all there. But for guests at Mullach Ruadh, fishing is particularly well provided for as the rental comes with the right to fish on Loch Shiel and the River Callop. Included in the rental is fishing for 2 rods on the loch, the right to launch a boat and the mooring and necessary attachments - so for those with their own boat this is ideal. Fishing is for salmon, sea trout and brown trout. EPC Rating: Band D
