The property

Clachan Sands Cottage, situated close to the beautiful Clachan Sands, is perfect for year round holidays for families and friends. Children are very welcome as is the family canine so that all can enjoy the wonderful setting. The house has panoramic views out to sea across Clachan Sands and is ideal for exploring the Uists, both North and South. It is easy to get across to Harris too for a day trip but North Uist offers so much to do and explore that you may not wish to leave. The Outer Hebrides are stunning year through regardless of weather and are a land of extremes; from glorious long summer days when the sun only sets for a very short time to the moody and stormy winter days which are equally enjoyable viewed from inside a cosy cottage like this! Facing west means that you will probably experience one of the amazing sunsets so evocative of the western seaboard. For those of you there during the winter time, the chance of watching the Northern Lights from the warmth of the hot tub must not be missed! Bird watchers have ample opportunity to see rare birds and it is not uncommon for unusual exotic birds to be blown off course and take shelter in the islands until they can recover and move on. It is easy to get to North Uist from the Isle of Skye by Calmac Ferry from Uig or from Oban to South Uist from where you are an hour and a half drive to the cottage.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £200.
