  • "We were informed that we couldn't have the flat we had booked as decorators needed to change the windows and were offered alternatives."

    We were assured that Flat 1 had parking. It did not due to scaffolding being there. We double checked the availability of parking before we opted for it. Asked for Sykes to 'ring back' many times but it never happened and we spent a long time sitting on phone trying to speak to Sykes' reps. Bedroom blinds flimsy so no privacy during the day and had to keep the curtains shut instead. Intermittent wifi signal. Scalding hot water. Unable to take a shower all week as it was so hot. Inadequate lighting. Unable to read by the bedside lights and even in the sitting room it was inadequate. Comfy bed. Good location close to facilities.

The property

Flat 1, St Agnes House is one of 4 apartments located in a Grade 2 listed building located in the centre of Lyme Regis, a picturesque seaside town in Dorset.

Situated on the ground floor, this one-bedroomed apartment can welcome up to four guests and three dogs, so is ideal for couples or small families, using the sofa bed.

An off-road parking space for one small/medium sized car at the front of the building is a bonus in this part of the town.

From the entrance hall, you enter into the lounge with double sofa bed, smart TV and electric coal effect fireplace – perfect for the chillier evenings.

Two steps lead from the lounge to the kitchen diner, a bright room overlooking the rear garden. The bedroom is a spacious room with king-size bed and high ceilings typical of properties of this age.

The bathroom at the rear of the property, has a bathroom with shower over and heated towel rail, with a separate WC. Outside, the apartment has a spacious rear walled garden, perfectly situated to enjoy a spot of alfresco dining or for sitting in the sunshine with a book and a cold drink.

A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. Located in the heart of Lyme Regis, the apartment has all amenities including shops, restaurants and eateries close to hand.

The nearby Langmoor gardens offers a scenic walk to the seafront and family friendly beaches, enjoying far reaching coastal views along the way.

Take a stroll around the famous Cobb harbour, home to many TV and film adaptations and a trip to the seaside isn’t complete without sampling fish and chips from one of the takeaways or pubs located on the seafront.

When it comes to enjoying a day out, why not take a trip to the Donkey Sanctuary at Sidmouth, home to hundreds of donkeys, with dog friendly trails to be explored (kept of leads) and open all year round.

Other popular days out include Seaton where you can take a picturesque tram ride along the river Axe estuary through nature reserves to Colyford and Colyton. Flat 1, St Agnes House is a lovely holiday apartment, offering so much to see and do, making it a great base for a holiday at any time of the year.
