“At the end of June 2019 we were with five adults a week on holiday in 'The Old Farmhouse', Gartocharn, Loch Lomond.”
It was a fantastic holiday. The house is very quietly located, and has a fully equipped kitchen-dining area, it has three spacious bedrooms and two bathrooms. On our arrival we were welcomed by Chris, the son of the house. David, Chris and Freda (our hosts, and hostess), are incredibly sweet and friendly people. The terrace at the front of the house, is wonderful to enjoy a sunset.
The cottage is a good base for a city visit to Glasgow or Stirling. There is also no lack of hiking opportunities: Ben Lomond, The Whangie, Conic Hill, Primrose Hill (Loch katrine), Aberfoyle (queen elizabeth forest park).....
A trip on the speedboat of Chris is an absolute must. We even used his services twice. Once to take us to Rowardennan for the start of a hike. And a second time to observe a beautiful sunset from the lake. Chris is an excellent boater, and has an enormous knowledge of the history, culture and the fauna and flora of Loch Lomond and the islands.
In this house, you can really enjoy and relax. This holiday cottage is highly recommended. We certainly want to visit it a second time , because there is so much more to discover in this region of Scotland.
Thank you David, Chris and Freda, for your hospitality. It is a real pleasure to stay in this nice and cozy cottage.
