“Nice place to stay, would of been nice had the owners introduced themselves to us on arrival.”

We travelled for 11 hours and milk for a drink would of been nice, may this could be considered for future guests. I would highly recommend the garden at the back of the cottage fenced off to keep their dogs away from guests staying there. Daily their dogs paced up and down round the cottage so I was on edge letting my dog out. In the terms and conditions when booking it states guests dogs must not be allowed to roam around and kept under control yet their dogs are allowed to go back and forth ...

I would highly recommend the garden at the back of the cottage fenced off to keep their dogs away from guests staying there. Daily their dogs paced up and down round the cottage so I was on edge letting my dog out. In the terms and conditions when booking it states guests dogs must not be allowed to roam around and kept under control yet their dogs are allowed to go back and forth. Although there is a fenced field for dogs it's not always possible to use i.e night time / early morning when it is dark, I feel it would benefit from a private garden so guests can relax and allow their dogs out .The driveway is quite small so if you have a larger car be prepared to do a two point turn on the road to get into it

The property

Gardener's Cottage is situated in the beautiful surroundings of Glebe House with its fabulous gardens and is just seven miles from the sandy beaches of Spey Bay and Lossiemouth. The cottage offers a high standard of self-catering accommodation for up to five guests in a tranquil, private and relaxing setting which will appeal especially appeal to garden lovers who can spend days or evenings relaxing in the walled garden, resplendent with climbing roses, shrubs, trees, exotics and perennial borders. The conversion of this former steading has cleverly retained the atmosphere of the former 1820's building, with stable doors, deep-set windows and characterful small details but also offering a light and contemporary feel. The interior design has been sensitively done in order to enhance the charm of this property and to emphasise its coastal location in the choice of colour. The cottage is not overlooked by any other property, and is surrounded by a mature garden which has strategically placed seats to best enjoy the views. Although the garden is not enclosed, the cottage is not near the road so it is relatively safe for children. The area is one which is renowned for excellent fishing and golf, but what is less known is the sheer wealth of bird-life and wildlife that can be seen in the woodlands and fields surrounding the cottage. There are extensive woodlands to walk in and, as the house is on the sea-side of the A96, it is ideal for long walks to the coast for a really good day out. There are many exceptionally good restaurants and other eating places in the surrounding villages, and Elgin is just a 10-minute drive away. The beaches are sandy and great for children, and from Spey Bay you can take a boat trip out to see the Moray Firth dolphins. With the River Spey just a 5-minute drive away, and the Lossie not much further, fishing can be the focus of a holiday at this house. Alternatively, golfers could fill a week just trying all the different courses within a half-hour drive. For those who just want to unwind with a good book amid total tranquillity, Gardener's Cottage is ideal!

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £150.
