  • "We have been to Glen Cruick many times and loved every stay."

The house really is super, it cannot be faulted, and there are so many lovely walks nearby to let you experience whatever the weather brings. It is a proper escape but a luxury one, I would highly recommend a stay here!

Thank you so much for your wonderful review Katherine, it is greatly appreciated Property Owner

  • "This was our first visit to Scotland and we were not disappointed!"

Everyone was so friendly. Fabulous house, very well equiped, especially in the kitchen. Loved not having a tv in the sitting room and the seperate tv room was cosy. Having a Christmas tree in the sitting room when we arrived was lovely. There was so much to do in the surrounding area, so many fantastic walks right from the house. We hope to return.

Thank you so much Patrick for your very kind review, it’s greatly appreciated. Property Owner

We had a very enjoyable time there. We loved the quiet isolation and night sky. The wildlife was abundant and the local walks were a pleasure. All on all a nice break and we would book again.

Quality furnishings provide a touch of luxury. Walking from the door with wildlife in abundance. Fishing both salmon and trout well catered for and the housekeeper helped us find a wonderful private chef for a special evening meal. Highly recommended and we will be back.

  • "This was our second visit to this house & we really love staying here."

I first saw it featured in Scottish Field magazine & thought at the time how nice it would be to go there & it didn’t disappoint. The layout downstairs is simply spectacular with a magnificent feature fire. Upstairs the main bedroom has a separate dressing room & doors onto a balcony plus a comfortable seating area. There is a downstairs bedroom that’s almost in a separate wing which is great for privacy. The surrounding area is fabulous for walking & I can highly recommend Tesco at Forfar for holiday supplies. Drovers at Memus isn’t bad but think they struggle a bit with vegetarian options. A beetroot risotto was just purple rice & nothing else! We very much hope to return to Glen Cruick in the future.

  • "Glen Cruick was the most exceptional property we have ever stayed at- faultlessly spotless, top quality everything, and a stunning building and location."

We especially enjoyed the sumptuous beds and bedding, and small details like crockery, cushions and throws which were of a standard you’d have at home. The clever layout of the downstairs means that the bedroom and shower room are totally private, and our dog absolutely loved the safe enclosed garden. The upstairs balcony was hard to leave and we will most definitely return. It’s the first time in my 58 years that I was sorry to arrive home !

  • "Wow ! Just wow!"

Our second time at this stunning home. Felt very lucky to be in the most stunning surroundings and the most luxurious home. This really is an escape from everything. Nothing short of perfect that has left it’s mark with me. I hope to return as soon as I can, the dogs were in heaven too. Wonderful !

  • "What a stunning place!"

Stayed here for a week in September 2021, this had been postponed from March 2021 due to the pandemic! Trip up from Glasgow was lovely and very scenic, but please note this is a secluded house, which was what we wanted, roads are fine until the last wee bit which is a dirt track through a farm. The farmer is so nice and friendly too. Anyway, the house has everything, comfort, luxury, views, peace and quiet and an abundance of wildlife. We were a family of 5 adults plus a dog and you can definitely have your own space in this property. The walks are lovely round the property. The kitchen and main living space were my favorite and it is a lovely place to be sitting watching the pheasants and red kites go by with your morning coffee. One thing to remember is a torch as it is very dark there at night. The cleanliness of the house was exceptional, the handbook and instructions for all the appliances was incredible too, they have thought of everything, We also had to make an emergency visit to the vet whilst staying here and guess what they have thought of this too and gave several vets numbers in the information pack, Fantastic. The laundry/boiler room has all the equipment you need and more. If you do visit this property, be sure to visit The Drovers for a meal (dog friendly in the bar) and the Redwings Mountains Sanctuary (also dog friendly) close by. Two lovely places to spend your time. Will hopefully be back again in the near future.

  • "This cottage was out of this world."

It was spotlessly cleaned and equipped to a very high standard. The location was so peaceful and we loved being able to walk and cycle directly from the front door. Forfar was only 25 minutes away and has a good choice of shops. We highly recommend this cottage and will definitely be back.

  • "All I can say is WOW."

An ideal spot with an enclosed garden and walks from the door step. The house is so relaxing and the setting fabulous. We had a week at the end of May with fantastic weather. If you feel like leaving at all it's a lovely area we saw dolphins at the coast at St Cyrus and deer eagles and red squirrels at Glen Clova. Hoping to go back soon.

  • "We had a wonderful time at Glen Cruik."

It is a beautiful house and gorgeous setting. We enjoyed the quality of the fittings and fixtures and we were very comfortable. My only criticism - and it is a very minor one - is that there is no mirror near an electric socket anywhere. When I wanted to dry my hair I had to resort to plugging in an extension cable on the upstairs landing and taking it into the bathroom, which is really not ideal. Other than that, everything was great.

  • "We stayed at Glen Cruick for 2 weeks in May 16 and had a fantastic holiday."

The cottage is extremely comfortable and spacious and the garden is very peaceful and relaxing. There are numerous walks on your doorstep, which our dog loved and the wildlife is amazing. We hope to return in the very near future..
