Here are three newly added properties that epitomise the spirit of LHH, a typical cross section of what we stand for - Little, Large and Luxury. Your 2017 holiday starts here.

Little

smiddy cottage

Smiddy Cottage is a 5 star thatched cottage on the Isle of South Uist. Built in 2008, using local stone and thatch it offers a beautifully cosy retreat for 2. Nestling within the scattered crofting community of Smerclate and with views out to Eriskay and the Atlantic Ocean, this cottage is perfect for island lovers, beachcombers and all who just wish to escape to a slower pace of life. Cosy in your deep walled, thatched cottage you can enjoy the elemental and awe inspiring islands from the comfort of the sofa - glass in hand and feet up.

Luxury

glenforsa

Glenforsa House has been purpose built to give maximum light and stunning views across the Sound of Mull. This incredible house has a large open plan sitting and dining room with full length windows to take advantage of its spectacular location. It comfortably accommodates 10 people and the well-tended grounds and summer house make outdoor entertaining possible with a barbecue and garden furniture. River and loch fishing can be arranged on a daily or weekly basis with 2 rods available with the nearest pool just below the house and close to the shore. Sail from Mull to either the Treshnish Isles to see the puffin colony or to the Isle of Staffa for the magical Fingal's Cave. There are sea safaris to look for the whales, dolphins and seals which inhabit the surrounding waters and the island is noted for its sea eagles and otters. There are plenty of places to eat out or to purchase excellent local produce to prepare back at Glenforsa as we are sure you will not want to stay away from this lovely house for too long.

Large

the post house

The Post House is a beautifully restored former Post Office, built in 1909, in the lovely Highland town of Kingussie. The massive 40 foot sitting room is great for parties, with its 12 foot long table, piano, pool table and wood burning stove. With a sturdy wooden floor it can also be used for a dance. Many original features have been retained and add to the slight quirkiness and appeal of the house (a former internal telephone box converted to a toilet closet and the old tiling and panelling are two examples.) The house itself can sleep 16 and comes with a studio which has an additional two twin bedrooms. Outside there is a barrel sauna and a large grassy garden for children to play, with a climbing frame and swing and a decked barbecue area making it ideal for lunches or lovely evenings outdoors. This is the perfect holiday venue for those who wish to have all the facilities of an attractive Highland town within a short walk - yet wish to quickly access the stunning mountains which form the Cairngorms National Park, with its wealth of visitor attractions. Within a short distance you can be mountain biking, climbing, hill walking, fishing, sailing, snowboarding, skiing and bird watching. And don’t forget the more child friendly attractions such as the Highland Wildlife Park and the Loch Insh Water Sports Centre.
