The 40th Annual Ryder Cup
All golf aficionados know that this year the third largest sporting event in the world, the Ryder Cup, will be hosted at the 5 star golf course at Gleneagles Hotel. During this thrilling tournament you can watch the USA attempt to reclaim the trophy after Europe’s spectacular win in 2012.
Even if you’re not a golfing enthusiast, the stunning views of the Perthshire landscape from this world-famous course will make the trip worthwhile.
The Ryder Cup will run from the 23rd – 25th September.
Perthshire Marathon and Half Marathon
Challenge yourself to the Perthshire Marathon & Half Marathon this September! Whether you choose to run or cycle, you will pass through some of the most scenic areas of natural beauty that Perthshire has to offer! Look out for the Kenmore Bridge and the Black Watch Monument as you travel along the route.

Perth Racecourse’s Glorious Finale: The Big Bang
Don’t miss the largest event in Perth Racecourse’s calendar! The Glorious Finale: The Big Bang is one the oldest and most popular fixtures at the race course. This prestigious event is the perfect way to end the racing season in style. Enjoy a day of top quality racing then celebrate with fireworks and live music from the Corra Band at the post race party.

Perthshire Open Studios
Now in its 9th year of running, the Perthshire Open Studios Festival is one of the fastest growing arts events in Scotland. This year, over 20 artists in 138 venues across Perthshire will open their doors to the public to show off their work. Paintings, photographs, sculptures and textiles will be on display amongst other forms of arts and crafts. This is an unmissable event for art lovers and the ideal way to explore more of the picturesque Perthshire countryside as you travel around the various venues.
This year’s event will run from the 6th – 14th September.
