Mosspeeble Cottage is nestled in the rolling hills of the Southern Uplands a few miles outside Langholm and is easily accessible to those travelling from the north and south. It is an ideal location for the outdoor enthusiast, those wishing to relax and unwind, or as a base to explore the fascinating and historic Borders/Galloway areas.
There are hill walks from the door or, with a short drive, you can easily access cycle routes and moorland walks. Wildlife regularly observed in the vicinity includes otters, badgers and roe deer. The Northumberland National Park is easily reached and offers some amazing hill walking, cycling and mountain biking.
The cottage is furnished in a very comfortable style, with a spacious, well-equipped kitchen/dining area and a lounge with a generous wood burning stove and comfortable sofas to sink into. With a mature garden, which is surrounded by farmland, it is an ideal place for families and friends to spend time enjoying this lovely traditional Borders cottage.
For those wishing to pursue their interest in sporting activities, the owners are happy to help with fishing and stalking arrangements. In the area there are other activities, including horse riding, and if you want to take your own horse, the owners can provide exceptional facilities to accommodate it.
Edinburgh is less than a two-hour drive and, closer, there are several Border towns to explore, including Langholm, Hawick, Moffat, Selkirk and Dumfries. The area is well known for its tweed and woollen mills, with Langholm being the home of the popular Edinburgh Woollen Mill.
For those wishing to experience something a little different, the Kagyu Samye Ling is the first and largest Tibetan Centre and Buddhist Monastery in the West. Driving through the rolling hills it is quite a surprise to view the gold and white domes of the Tibetan Temple gleaming in the distance.
