Sitting at 1300 feet above sea level, Tombain Cottage commands a view to die for! The house faces panoramic views of the rich Speyside landscape and the rugged hills of the Cairngorms beyond, yet is only four miles from the popular Highland town of Grantown-on-Spey in the Cairngorms National Park.
This recent conversion of a traditional 200-year-old cottage is available as high-quality self-catering holiday accommodation for six to eight people, and offers a luxurious standard, both in design and furnishings, in a stunning Speyside location.
Old pitch pine and oak have been used in the floors and doors; the kitchen furniture and the dining table are both of high quality oak; and there is a wonderful L-shaped leather sofa which is positioned to allow maximum appreciation of the tremendous views through the huge cathedral window in the main room.
The bedrooms are similarly well appointed, and the master bedroom has a stone wall illuminated from the floor, French doors to the patio and garden, and commands the prime view enjoyed by this property.
The modern oak kitchen will be a pleasure to cook in and, as it makes up part of the main room, is ideal for entertaining.
The area is well known for all the visitor attractions and especially celebrated by those with a love of any kind of sport, including mountaineering, off-road cycling, hill walking, hang-gliding, skiing and watersports.
The area is also excellent for birdwatching and includes the famous Osprey Centre. Fishing and stalking can be arranged locally.
The Strathspey Steam train is in the Boat of Garten area, not far from Grantown-on-Spey and is great fun for rail enthusiasts of all ages. Travel to the 'Glen Bogle' station - featured in the TV series 'Monarch of the Glen' which was filmed around this area of the Cairngorms.
