Balgy Lodge perches on a raised knoll above the River Balgy overlooking Loch Torridon and the spectacular surrounding mountains. Rooms command lovely views, and the grounds are an ideal play area for children as there is a gate and fencing to the road, and the river is a safe distance away. The climate on this part of the west coast is surprisingly mild due to the influence of the Gulf Stream, which has a warming effect on the area: pampas grass and palm trees grow in an area that is as northerly as Oslo.

Built in the early 1990s, the lodge offers all the comforts necessary for a relaxing self-catering holiday - whatever the time of year. Warm and cosy, yet spacious and accommodating for a large family or group, Balgy Lodge is an ideal destination for year-round holiday rental.

This house will appeal to those outdoor enthusiasts who want to return to essential luxuries after a day on the hills, loch or sea, and to those who just like to enjoy the spectacular beauty of this part of Scotland. There are wonderful walks and hidden sandy beaches, and a number of Munros (3,000ft+ mountains) within easy distance.

Tastefully furnished and decorated to a high standard, the lodge is most suited to parties of seven adults and up to five children, although the bunk beds are full-size and can accommodate adults.

The area is home to some of Scotland's most spectacular mountains and lochs, and is ideal for those wishing to explore the west coast by car. The indented coastline is fascinating - from rocky shoreline to sandy beaches.

The lodge is heated by oil-fired central heating, and electricity is provided by wind turbine and generator.
