More information about East Cottage

Property information

East Cottage is so perfectly located for a fun-packed holiday that it is hard to convey all that this area has to offer. Its position, up in the hills and surrounded by farmland, woodlands and forest, is just the best for those looking to pursue an activity holiday whether that is cycling, walking, skiing, fishing, kayaking or golf. For anyone interested in history then it's all on your doorstep starting with the ancient stone circles, the Bronze Age Clava Cairns through to the battlefield site of the Jacobite Rebellion at Culloden. There are many castles open to the public and Fort George military museum at Ardersier.

Natural history buffs will appreciate the close proximity both to the sea, with the opportunity to either take a boat trip out to watch for dolphins or to see them from the shores of the Black Isle, and to the farmland, forests and woodlands surrounding the cottage where many small mammals, deer and birds can be seen.

Beach lovers are spoilt for choice with the fabulous Nairn, Findhorn and Lossiemouth beaches plus the fascinating Culbin Sands.

Head down Loch Ness to see Urquhart Castle and watch its history unfold on their excellent video. Drive round the loch passing through Fort Augustus and coming back up to Inverness by the south shore.

There are plenty of places to eat out, shop locally or pick up a take away. There is everything available from Michelin starred restaurants to a great fish and chip shop!

We highly recommend this cottage for those who want a really wide variety of things to do and places to see. However, you will return each day to the comforts of this well-appointed cottage - to take in yet another magnificent view.

The owner donates £50 of all rentals to the Highland Hospice.

Stayed here with my husband , 2 sons (13 and 9) and dog, and loved every minute of it. The area is fantastic and the cottage idyllic. The views and tranquillity are priceless. The cottage itself has everything you could ask for, with plenty of room for the boys to play. The neighbours were really friendly and the welcome gifts from the owner was lovely. We will definitely be back. Thank you.

My daughter and son in law had a great time, loved the area and the walks and how quiet it was up here .We lucked out with the weather . . . and had some star spotting last night ! House has been great .

Many thanks for that and we certainly enjoyed our stay in East Cottage. The position is great with the views superb in both directions. The cottage was very well equipped and we were most impressed with the various food and other items left for us including the super fruit cake.
