More information about Woodlands Cottage

Property information

Woodlands Cottage is a newly built (2015) two storey house in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and, whilst being a compact house, has 3 bedrooms and three bath/shower rooms making it perfect for both families and friends sharing. With just a very short walk to the excellent restaurant at Mount View Hotel and not much further to the Nethy Bridge Hotel it is possible to give the 'cook' the occasional night off!

Nethy Bridge is in an ideal position to enjoy a wealth of activities for all ages and interests with both summer and winter sports being catered for in several locations. Watersports at Lochs Insh and Morlich and snow sports in Aviemore can be easily reached and the walkers and hill climbers are assured of a superb choice of routes of all levels. Fishing can be arranged on lochs and rivers, again to suit all skill levels.

For those wishing to tour the area and see the whisky distilleries, castles and gardens a wide choice is available. However, the jewel in the crown of the area is the remnants of the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest, the largest piece of the ancient forest which recolonised Scotland after the last ice age 10,000 years ago. Mainly Scots pine, rowan and birch with juniper, blaeberry, cowberry, wintergreen and twinflower but much more as well. Birds found here include capercaillie, osprey, Scottish crossbill and others. A wonderful place in summer or winter. Mountain hare and Scottish wildcat also make their home in these forests and mountains.

Both children and adults will enjoy the Highland Wildlife Park which is home to polar bear, amur tigers, bison and wolf among many more amazing animals both native and non-native. Definitely worth a visit.

Being newly built and furnished a high standard is assured in this lovely cottage in its very special surroundings.
