Property information

Inver Lodge, formerly the Inver Hotel and now fully converted to a self-catering lodge, benefits from having been a hotel as it has retained facilities not often found in a holiday lodge. From the all en suite bedrooms, many with brand new facilities for 2017, to the huge central social space encompassing the original traditional bar you will find all you need for large family groups, sporting parties and groups of hill walkers and ski enthusiasts. Although situated on a minor A road this has low traffic volumes and is very quiet at night. The advantage is that it is kept clear in wintry weather.

The catering facilities really are second to none as the former commercial kitchen has been replaced with an attractive yet functional domestic kitchen but with all the best facilities from the former hotel retained including a commercial dishwasher as well as a domestic one, massive fridge space, 4 oven AGA and an electric oven and 4 hobs, commercial ice maker and oodles of equipment.

The bedrooms have all new beds and all bar two of the bathrooms have both baths and showers, ideal for large groups of walkers, shooting parties and fisherfolks.

The bar will be the big attraction for many and has retained one of the pumps and a Guinness surger. With notice, the owner can arrange for a keg of beer to be installed in the cellar and ready for you to pull your own pints. There is a large wine cooler and separate beer cooler. Snug and traditional this room will see many long nights round the fire with glass in hand!

To the rear of the house there is oodles of parking and grassy areas for football and al fresco dining, safely gated and fenced for children and pets.

The area is superb for the hill walker, skier, and fishing and shooting enthusiasts; (the lodge has a gun cabinet in a secure room and rod/wader hanging areas). It is possible to climb over the garden stile and head on across the fields and straight up into the Cairngorm Mountains. Royal Deeside is noted for its dramatic scenery and the nearby Victorian villages of Braemar and Ballater can offer all you need in gift shops, cafes and restaurants. There are excellent local butchers in both villages.

You also have various catering options at Inver Lodge from a full time chef for your stay (bedroom allocation needed) to the occasional, one off celebration meal by a local cook. In addition and by prior arrangement the owners can prepare a simple, one pot style meal for your arrival on the Saturday so that you do not need to cook on your first night. What better way to arrive and relax.

Your dog is welcome to Inver Lodge too and there is plenty of space for dog beds.
