More information about Badarroch House

Property information

Badarroch House is a lovely wooden house overlooking Loch Torridon and has been carefully laid out to give maximum flexibility for the larger family or party. The highest quality materials have been used, with Scandinavian double glazing and doors, solid wood flooring and high levels of insulation making this an excellent winter retreat as well as a summer holiday location; what luxury to return to after a day on the mountains or loch!

As well as its magnificent position, Badarroch sits within nearly 5 acres of ancient oak woodland, through which paths wind their way to the cliff-tops. Running through the garden are two delightful streams.

The location of the house is truly unbelievable and being south/southwest facing it enjoys some spectacular sea views, as well as magnificent views across Loch Torridon to Applecross and Skye.

The village of Lower Diabeg comprises a small crofting community at the end of one of the most beautiful West Highland passes, from where there are breath-taking views across Upper Loch Torridon towards Applecross Forest and Beinn Eighe.

Within the grounds are two smaller log cabins sleeping 2 in each, Down House and Chapel House which can be seen elsewhere on the website.

Where do I start? This house is just fantastic! Very well equipped (proper espresso machine, 2 fridges and big freezer, washer & dryer, satellite tv, broadband, interesting books, CDs, DVDs) It's great to sit out on the deck and enjoy the view and the quiet with a wee dram or glass of wine. The road from Torridon is spectacular with great views. Very enjoyable, but a bit of a challenge for nervous drivers. Some great walks in the neighbourhood, short and long. I recommend the one to Craig Bothy (8km in total.) Strongly recommended (as long as you don't pick the weeks that we want!)

Date of stay : 5th-12th Sept 09. After a long and tiring drive from the Cotswolds we were delighted with what awaited us. Badarroch is just an AMAZING property, really well equipped and the views are just out of this world. You wont be disappointed with the property. On those wet and rainy days when you're unable to get out walking in the stunning countryside Badarroch is well equipped with books, DVD's and games for the whole family. We will always remember our stay - we got engaged whilst we were there! We will definitely return x
