More information about Druidaig Lodge

Property information

Druidaig Lodge is a fine Edwardian holiday home in a stunning location near the Isle of Skye, the Five Sisters of Kintail, Loch Duich and the famous Eilean Donan Castle. The lodge offers spacious self-catering accommodation for up to seventeen people in what must be one of the most popular and beautiful stretches of the west coast of Scotland.

For sheer scenic beauty, Druidaig Lodge is an unbeatable holiday location and a perfect self catering choice for large groups or families, especially if you want to visit castles and tour the Isle of Skye and mainland Scotland, all of which are within easy reach. For those preferring a quiet relaxed holiday, there are five acres of garden grounds that lead down to the loch shore: from here the beautiful mountain backdrop surrounding this most attractive property is absolutely stunning.

Fishing on Loch Duich and in the hill lochs above the house is included in the rental, and there is a private slipway on the loch where you can launch your own boat either for fun sailing or serious sea fishing. If you do not have your own boat, then sea fishing in Loch Duich is best achieved by renting a small boat in Letterfearn: salmon fishing on the River Croe at Kintail is also available. The area is also a haven for walkers, climbers and birdwatchers, and there is no end of possibilities here for enjoying all of these activities.

Please note that the narrow beds on the second floor are most suited to children.

This property is not available for short breaks.

Fantastic. It's a house with real character; pictures of the family on the walls, a deer head mounted on the main staircase and well used furniture. We stayed for a week with family friends (there were 11 of us originally but quickly turned into 13 as others abandoned their holiday homes for a spare room of ours!) and all took bikes and wetsuits with us. We spent the first day getting our bearings and cycling around the beautiful surrounding areas. There's a broch just up the road, complete with a rope swing on the way to keep you entertained if considering an "in" day and the gardens are huge. Multiple games of cricket were played, including one that we had to abandon because of midges! The view from the house is amazing, even when it's raining and, speaking of rain, there's a decent wifi signal but only in the piano room and its surrounding areas and the TV (despite not having Sky) is a useful last resort. Of course, who needs that when you've brought along a 2000 piece jigsaw puzzle and have a house so big it'll take ages to find someone in a game of hide n seek or complete a game of snooker in the billiard room. Every night we had 16 people sitting round the dinner table eating salmon, roast chicken, pizza and spaghetti and meatballs (cooked by the kids). We went to the beach, the castle, plockton, the Skye Serpentarium and the Glenelg brochs and had lunch at the Glenelg Inn but not all in one day of course!

I went to Druidaig lodce on the 26th of May 2007. I went with my Dad and sister and four other families. I came back on the 2nd of June. Loch duich is beautiful and the house is lovely too. We did a lot of walking and the scenery was beautiful. I liked the cottage in Druidaig lodges grounds, the boys slept there. I found the billiards room fun as well. I enjoyed the rope swing and the bridges. It is a perfect place to come for a week and I would strongly reccommend it.
