The property

Fleming House is a superb traditional Victorian cottage nestled in the centre of Cowes, and is an ideal base for a family looking for a getaway to the coast on the Isle of Wight.

Renovated to a high standard, this delightful abode offers a stylish and contemporary base with a lovely light decor, whilst still retaining some of its period wooden flooring.

Be welcomed into a sitting area with pretty bay windows and a characterful open fire to warm your feet beside as you plan the day ahead of you, and there is also the option of a quieter snug, ideal for catching up on a good book.

When mealtimes call, head over to the kitchen/diner, a contemporary space with ample amenities to cater to your culinary needs, and a large dining table where guests can indulge in a hearty meal, complemented by a glass of fizz.

From here, access the rear garden through the patio doors and dine alfresco in the sunshine as you reflect on the day’s adventures.

When sleep calls, freshen up in the sleek, ground-floor shower room, before making your way upstairs to cosy down for the night in one of the three bedrooms.

Choose between a super-king-size with delightful furnishings and storage, a twin, and a twin room with bunk and single bed, and there is also a bathroom on this floor.

Cowes is a fantastic location for your stay, offering sailing facilities and Cowes Week sailing competitions once a year.

Make sure you sample some of the towns traditional pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience, as well as shops and supermarkets for picking up any last-minute essentials.

Being a seaside town, Cowes gives access to a number of opportunities for a variety of watersports, as well as some excellent beaches such as Gurnard Bay and Thorness Bay Beach where you can take a picnic and relax on the soft sands.

There are a number of museums across Cowes and East Cowes, such as The Sir Max Aitken Museum, Cowes Maritime Museum and Osbourne House, all hugely popular with tourists.

Further afield is the National Trust area of Newtown National Nature Reserve, perfect for long scenic walks and wildlife spotting, with some of the most magnificent views across the countryside.

Head over to Newport, where you will find a museum, the Monkey Haven - Primate Rescue Centre, and Carisbrooke Castle, and other attractions include walks along the coast of the stunning Isle of Wight AONB.

Fleming House is the ultimate choice for a week-long break near the coast of Isle of Wight.
